  • FedWorld (http://www.fedworld.gov)
    This is the Federal Government's gateway to government information. The site was originally developed in 1992 and has gone through many changes. The site is oriented toward the citizen and while most available government information is accessible through this site the focus is on those federal government sites most requested by the average person.
  • FedStats (http://www.fedstats.gov)
    FedStats is the federal government's gateway to statistical information from over 100 federal government agencies. The site is easy to use and also provides access to Kids' Pages developed by federal agencies for children in elementary through high school.
  • Internal Revenue Service (http://www.irs.gov)
    IRS forms & instructions, electronic filing help with your tax questions.
  • U.S. Census Bureau (http://www.census.gov)
    Provides access to primarily statistical census information as well as information about the 2000 census. Does NOT include individual census records which many people are seeking for genealogical research.

Provides access to the Congressional Record for recent years, bill & law summaries & status, floor activities, historical documents, public laws, other congressional websites, and a host of other resources.

    This site is the official site for the published material and documents of the United States Government. "GPO Access is a service of the U.S. Government Printing Office that provides free electronic access to a wealth of important information products produced by the Federal Government. The information provided on this site is the official, published version and the information retrieved from GPO Access can be used without restriction, unless specifically noted.

    These sites provides a finding aid to the newly released 1930 Census, The Federal Register and a wealth of information regarding the records of the federal government. These sites are especially useful to those doing genealogical searching.
  • LSU's Gateway to Federal Government Agencies (http://www.lib.lsu.edu/gov/fedgov.html)
    Developed by Louisiana State University, this site divides the agencies into the respective branches of government and provides links to each agency's web page. Also includes links to "quasi-government" agencies. A great site to bookmark.
