MADISON COUNTY READS AHEAD
An expansion of Project Read, Madison County Reads Ahead provides one-on-one adult literacy tutoring for adults 18 years of age who want to improve their basic language skills or to learn English as a second language at the Bridgeport Branch of the Sullivan Free Library, the Morrisville Public Library, the Community Action Building in Morrisville and the Hamilton Public Library.
WORKING TOGETHER
For families that have recently immigrated to the U.S., the Oneida Library offers a series of programs designed to help both parents and their children adapt to American life.
STANDING TALL
For parents who want to earn a GED and help their children (from birth through Grade 6) to achieve success in school, the program offers tutoring at the library and at-home parenting and literacy education.
TOGETHER:
Book Talk for Kids and Parents
This semi-annual, six-session program, created by the New York Council for the Humanities, promotes reading and discussion for fourth-grade children who need extra support and parents who want to make reading and discussion an important part of their home lives.
