WELCOME

STANDING TALL—a family literacy program at the Oneida Public Library funded by the Central New York Community Foundation—is designed to encourage eligible parents and their children in the Greater Oneida area to read and learn together at home and in the library as well as to foster good parenting skills and a home environment that can help bring success in education and in life.

In particular, a trained STANDING TALL family educator can help parents earn a GED and learn the skills needed to become their children's primary and most important teacher.

A family is eligible for this free program if:
* One parent does not have a high-school diploma or a GED,
* At least one child is under the age of 12 years,
* The family lives in the Oneida City School District, and
* The household meets Federal income guidelines.

For more information, contact Program Coordinator Pat Graham
at (315) 378-5856
or 363-3050, ext. 29.
