The Oneida Public Library is located in the center of the City of
Oneida, which lies between Utica (24 miles to the east) and Syracuse
(26 miles to the west). It is 7 miles due north of the geographical
center of New York State, 15 miles southwest of Rome and 7 miles
southeast of the eastern shore of Oneida Lake. |

From
the north
From Rome ,
15 miles northeast of Oneida , take either Route 46 (south) or Route 49
(west) to Route 365 (west). Route 46 goes directly to downtown Oneida ,
becoming Main St . At the traffic light at Main St. and Lenox Ave. ,
turn right. Go one block to the traffic light, turn left onto Broad St.
and go one-and-a-half blocks. The Oneida Public Library is on the
right.
Using Route
365 (west), go three miles beyond the entrance to the New York State
Thruway to a traffic light at the junction with Route 365A. Make a
right onto Route 365A ( Prospect St. and Lenox Ave. ) and drive for
less than a mile to the fourth traffic light. Make a left onto Broad
St. and go one-and-a-half blocks. The Oneida Public Library is on the
right.

From
the south
Whether from
Route 20 (east/west) or Route 12B (north), take Route 46 north (east of
Morrisville, west of Bouckville) and drive 14 miles to Oneida . At the
junction with Route 5, Route 46 becomes Main St. Continue north on Main
St. (Route 46) to the first traffic light. Turn left onto W. Walnut St.
and go one block to a stop sign. Turn right onto Broad St. and continue
to Stone St. Half a block beyond Stone St. on the left is the Oneida
Public Library.

From
the east
Take either the New
York Thruway (I-90) or Route 5 west. On the Thruway, take Exit 33 and
after the toll booths make a left at the traffic light onto Route 365
(west). After 3 miles, at the next traffic light, make a right onto
Route 365A ( Prospect St. and Lenox Ave. ) and drive for less than a
mile to the fourth traffic light. Make a left onto Broad St. and go
one-and-a-half blocks. The Oneida Public Library is on the right.
Using Route 5 (west), 24 miles west of Utica , you will cross the
Oneida Creek into Madison County and the City of Oneida . At the second
traffic light after the bridge, turn right onto Main St. (Route 46).
Continue north on Main St. (Route 46) to the first traffic light. Turn
left onto W. Walnut St. and go one block to a stop sign. Turn right
onto Broad St. and continue to Stone St. Half a block beyond Stone St.
on the left is the Oneida Public Library.
From
the west
Take either the
New York Thruway (I-90) or State Route 5 east. On the Thruway, take
Exit 34 (at Canastota) and after the toll booths make a left at the
traffic light onto Route 13 (south). Drive through the Village of
Canastota to the fourth traffic light at the junction with Route 5.
Make a left onto Route 5 (east) and drive for 7 miles into the City of
Oneida . After the Oneida Health Care Center and Troop D Barracks of
the New York State Police on the right, make the next left turn onto
Broad St. Continue on Broad St., past a four-way stop sign junction to
Stone St. Half a block beyond Stone St. on the left is the Oneida
Public Library.
Using Route 5 (east), 26 miles from Syracuse , you will enter the City
of Oneida . After the Oneida Health Care Center and Troop D Barracks of
the New York State Police on the right, make the next left turn onto
Broad St. Continue on Broad St., past a four-way stop sign junction to
Stone St. Half a block beyond Stone St. on the left is the Oneida
Public Library.
