Parks & Recreation Summer 2005
DEDICATED TO GROWING CHILDREN
 The parks will be open weekdays from Monday, June 27 to Friday, August 19 from the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday – Friday. The parks offer the children of the village an opportunity to go on field trips, work on arts, games and sports.  These programs help the children in developing socialization skills and creativity, while instilling a respect and appreciation for each other and their surroundings.  The parks will be working with the New York Mills Village Library and Police Department to bring special events to the children.  The following is a list of field trips tentatively scheduled for the summer:

• Children’s Museum of Utica
• Fly Creek Cider Mill
• Ice Skating

• Verona Beach
• Herkimer Diamond Mine
• Secret Caverns
• Erie Canal Village
• Fort Stanwix

The park registration forms will be available in June at the elementary school, village library and village office.  Please complete these forms and go over them with your children. Please note the age for participation for the summer parks program is 6 – 15 years of age. Parents are not allowed on the school bus for field trips. The park staff consists of a director and three park attendants.  All are certified in First Aid and CPR.
