Oct. 19 2001 MEETING NOTICE- Tuesday, Oct.. 23, 2001 MALSON – JONES POST VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS Garden Street NY. Mills @ 8:00 P.M. Once again the Club has held a successful fund-raiser. This time it was the maiden voyage in selling lobsters. Cooperation was noted from all directions in the sales of the lobsters, and in the tremendous effort of preparing, cooking, and distributing them at the Roselawn Pavilion. Typically, it was a lot of fun for all involved. ANNIVERSARY DINNER—Chairman Lion Peter Gadziala has noted that the MEMBERS THEMSELVES HAVE BEEN SLOW TO MAKE THEIR RESERVATIONS. If you are one of the slow ones, and Lion Peter doesn’t corner you over this week-end at the Roselawn, PLEASE CALL HIM NOW 768 7025.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS—under consideration are several projects. The firs one is already underway at the various middle schools in our territory, the PEACE POSTER CONTEST. There may be as many as two hundred young people involved in this contest. Also under consideration is the starting of a LEO CLUB for those in high school.
The Club recently donated to the Guiding Eyes for the Blind and the Team in Training Leukemia/Lymphoma marathon.
Our Lions are also committed to the CHRISTMAS ON MAIN STREET village-wide celebration on the 8th and 9th of December, during which we will sell Christmas trees, release several hundred balloons (with Lion Logos) in memoriam of those killed on Sept. 11th, and participate in a CHILI COOKOFF. There will be fun for everyone. Just be there!!
Welcome to our latest new members, Jim Bombace and Frank Szkotak. Regrets that Lion Dan Swider had to leave the Club because of his family commitments in the Heart Fund.
See you Tuesday at the VFW in N.Y. Mills. King Lion Frank
