New York Mills Public Library 399 Main Street has had a busy winter. We have held the following programs; William O'Hara, author of Irish Pride-American Courage-had a book signing. Attorney William Parker spoke on Wills and Trusts and Professor Doris Miga spoke about the Amish.customs.
On May 17th at 7:00 p.m. Robert McNamara will present a program in the Library meeting room. He is author of "Tug Hill- a four season guide to the natural side".  This is a regional history guide that is both entertaining and informative.
The Whitestown Lions Club has on loan at the Library a V tech Voyager which allows you to magnify bill, prescription labels and etc.  Please come and try it out.
April is Amnesty month at the Library . Fees will be waived for over due books that are returned. We hope many long overdue books will be returned.
The Celiac Support group of the Mohawk Valley , who provides support for those who are Gluten challenged, meets every 3rd Saturday.
A Girl Scout Troop has been meeting in the library. All girls K-6 are welcome to attend. The next meetings are Monday April 30th at 6 p.m. and Monday May 21st at 6 p.m. If you have any questions call Julie Baum at 733-2391 ext.30. The Girl Scouts are looking forward to working with us during our Summer Reading Programs again this year.
Sign ups for the Summer Reading Program will be June 26 and 28. Plans are under way for many programs, so far we have scheduled: Nancy Sanders - Puppeteer will be here at 1p.m. on July 10th. John Davies and The Empire Opera Company on July 17th at 1 p.m. Beth Tegart, a Storyteller, on July 26th at 1p.m. Ken Hyson a Troubadour who sings folk songs, does finger games musical exercises etc. on July 31st.
