This Saturday is the Big Sale! Don't miss it. The annual Friends of the Library Book Sale will be this Saturday, July 27th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library. We have a great selection of hardcovers and paperbacks, fiction and non-fiction, children's books and just about anything you might want to read. Stop by and stock up on books to read, all at unbelievably low prices.
If you read this early in the week, bring the little ones in for the special Pre-School Story Hour this week. There will be a puppet show at 10:30 in the library's back yard on Tuesday, July 23rd. The next story hour will be on July 30th. The Summer Reading Program for the school age children continues on Thursdays at 10:30.
Thanks this week to Claudia Loomis for the nice donation of children's books to the library. Claudia has taught so many area children to read as a long-time second grade teacher at the elementary school; her gifts to the library are just another reminder of her commitment to reading in this community.
Traci has passed on some valuable information for you if you or someone you know who has visual difficulty in reading. The National Library Service for the Blind has a website with details of devices designed to help people with visual or other physical disabilities. It has an exhaustive list of books and journal articles that evaluate devices as well as internet sources. Go to the website at www.loc.gov/nls/reference/circulars/assistive2001.html.
Speaking of websites, don't forget to use the Morrisville Library's website. Remember, if you read the Morrisville Library News column on the library's website (www.midyork.org/morrisville), you can click on the titles of any of the books I mention in the column and instantly order them online! All you have to do is pick up the books at the library. You might also want to look at the great photos of the library's recent Raise the Roof party that are now posted on our website.

The last section includes six essays that suggest ways to combat teen alcohol abuse on college campuses, through zero-tolerance laws, and more.
