MORRISVILLE LIBRARY NEWS
by Mary Brown

Due to all the great news of area graduations, we are shortening our column for a few weeks - to make room for all the commencement stories and photos. Book reviews and other details will return after the 4th holiday.
Summer is starting to sizzle at the library. On Thursday, July 9th, the summer Pre-school Story Hour series with Grandma B will begin at 10:30. On Thursday, July 11th, the library's Summer Reading Program for children 5 - 12 will kick off in the 10:30 - 11:30 time slot. The theme of this summer's program of fun, prizes, crafts, and of course, reading is "Splish! Splash! Read!". Sign up for this program at the library. The huge Friends of the Library Book Sale is just a few weeks away: be sure to put Saturday, July 27th, on your calendar now.
Don't forget: The library will be closed from Thursday, July 4th through Sunday, July 7th, for the Independence Day Weekend.
Thanks to everyone who made last Sunday's Raise the Roof fundraising party such a pleasant time and a big success. Thanks especially to Howard and Lynde Lafever for hosting the party at their lovely country place.
Due to an increase in processing fees from the Mid-York Library System, the Morrisville Library is forced to increase its overdue fine charges as of July 1, 2002. Details on the new charges will be published in next week's column.
Keep cool this week. Have a glass of iced tea and read a good library book.
