"Raise the Roof" for the Morrisville Library
by Mary Brown

Put on your finest Western attire and come to "raise the roof"! A big "Raise the Roof" party, a fundraiser for a new roof and other structural repairs to the Morrisville library, will be held on Sunday, June 30th from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Howlyn Acres, the North Butler Road home of Howard and Lynde Lafever.
Live music will be provided by Bernie Clark and the Rhythm Sharks, a band that has played for several years at venues throughout central New York, at the New York State Blues Festival and even in India. They play a mix of blues and R&B and are sure to make this party a lively one! Other small combos and acoustic acts who will also perform include former library director, Beverly Devlin, musicians from the band Jhawn, and John Schuster of the Johnny Shoes Blues Band. What a great show it will be!
Also, there will be a silent auction, with some very nice items up for bid. Among the auction items are a huge collection of baseball cards in a display case and a Jim Beam 1935 Ford Police Tow Truck (1988) from the Fire and Police Wheel series of Jim Beam collectibles.
The SUNY Morrisville catering service promises a wonderful array of refreshments for guests to enjoy as they listen to music, bid on items, chat with friends and area dignitaries Bill Magee, Nancy Larraine Hoffman, and Rocco DeVeronica or just enjoy the lovely gardens of Howlyn Acres.
Tickets for this party will be ten dollars apiece or twenty dollars per family. See Traci at the library if you would like to purchase a ticket and come out to enjoy the event. It will not only be great fun; it will be supporting a very worthwhile cause.
