I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Less than a month
until Christmas! Have you started your Christmas shopping?
If you haven't, the Morrisville Public Library is the one stop

Silent Auction is still going on! Stop in and bid on something
today! There are toys, artwork, Christmas decorations, puzzles,
gift certificates to local area businesses and LOTS more! Finish
your Christmas shopping with us. The silent auction ends December
15 so hurry in today!
The Adult Book Talk, Traveling Mercies, will be this Friday
December 5 at 7pm in the program room. This book talk was postponed
on November 24 due to inclement weather. Morrisville State College
professor Roxanna Pisiak will be facilitating this enlightening
discussion!
Be sure not to miss our favorite storyteller, Tom Lemery,
on Monday December 8. He has a wonderful show planned for the
young and old! His show begins promptly at 6:30pm and will run
until 8pm. If anyone can get you into the holiday spirit it
will be Tom! Don't miss this wonderful event!
Kiddies Korner topics for the next two weeks are: December
9- Holiday ornament making. The children will make holiday ornaments
to take home. December 16 the children will learn about Santa
Claus. (I've been told that Santa is going to try to take some
time out of his busy schedule to be there. I guess it will depend
on if the kids have been good this year!) Kiddies Korner is
every Tuesday from 10:30-11:30am. Be sure to bring your child
or grandchild in for an exciting time!
The Morrisville Public Library is proud to present FAMILY
BINGO NIGHT! Every Thursday night starting December 11, the
library will be hosting bingo! This is open to all ages and
all we ask is that children be accompanied by an adult. Bingo
starts at 6:30pm in the program room. Kids will win fun prizes!
Take time out of your busy holiday schedule to relax and play
a few games of bingo!
The Friends of the Library are hosting their Annual Open House
again this year! It will be December 12 from 3-7pm. Be sure
to stop in and meet some of the staff and see all the changes
the library has made over the past year! Refreshments and baked
goods will be served. It's a wonderful opportunity for the library
to thank all the patrons for their continued support.
Some other activities for December include: The Holiday Extravaganza
Young Adult Story Hour on December 15, The Snow Maiden Puppet
Show on December 17, and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas Young
Adult Story Hour on December 22. Details will follow on these
programs in the near future.
An important reminder: The library will be closing early
on Christmas Eve! The library will close at 3pm and not reopen
until January 2 at noon. Be sure to stop in and check out enough
materials to last over the Christmas and New Year break!
Some new fiction books this week are Engaging the Enemy by
Nora Roberts and Stuart Woods' Dirty Work. For the non fiction
readers we have a book donated by Nancy McPherson entitled, Hemingway
Book Club of Kosovo by Paula Huntley that comes well recommended.
For the science fiction readers we have a new book called Crossroads
of Twilight by Robert Jordan. We also have John Grisham's new
one, Bleachers, in both regular type and large print. Stop in
and check out these new titles or browse some of the others.
We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12-8pm and
Tuesday and Saturday 10-2pm.
