CALLING ALL KIDS:  Our sixth annual pumpkin coloring contest will be over soon! Children from toddler age up to and including 6th grade may participate.  Stop in anytime this week to pick up your entry form.  All entries must be returned to the library NO LATER than this Saturday October 18 at 4pm.  Winners will be announced at our Halloween party.

The book talk series has begun!  The first book being discussed is Sara Gruen’s Water for Elephants.  Copies can be picked up now for the talk this Friday October 17 at 7pm.

Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour, has begun!  PLEASE NOTE: Due to scheduling, the program will start at 9:30am and run until 10:30am.  The library will be open at 9:30am for story hour participants only!  So join us Tuesday October 21 for “Going Batty!” If you can’t make that day, join us November 4 for “Let’s Be Silly!” Bring your toddler or preschool child in and hear some stories, songs and more!

Our annual Halloween party will be Friday October 24 at 6:30pm.  Wear your costume and come and join us!  Listen to a story, play some games, and eat Halloween refreshments.  The winners of our coloring contest will be announced as well.

Village Historian, Sue Greenhagen, will be at the library on Monday October 27 at 6:30pm presenting “Graveyards of Madison County”.  This program will be sure to give you some insight into the various gravestones around.

On Wednesday October 29 at 6:30pm, come join us for some scary stories just in time for Halloween! 

The Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday October 21 at 6:30pm in the program room.  The public is encouraged to attend.

We are in dire need of new programming room chairs.  We are starting a collection to purchase them.  If you would like to contribute please send, or stop in and drop off a monetary donation.  Checks can be made to the Morrisville Public Library.  Thank you for your contribution!

Lots of new books have arrived!  Some are: Crosscut by Meg Gardiner, Man in the Dark by Paul Auster, Most Wanted Man by John LeCarre, Grace by Richard Evans, Brass Verdict by Michael Connelly, Sunset by Karen Kingsbury, Sweet Trouble by Susan Mallery, Anathem by Neal Stephenson, Dark Curse by Christine Feehan, Keepsake by Tess Gerritsen, Hot Mahogany by Stuart Woods, Hounded to Death by Rita Mae Brown and Heat Lightning by John Sandford.

As the weather gets cooler, don’t forget to stop in for a good book to cuddle up with!  We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
