Do we get to assume that spring has finally arrived here in Morrisville?  If you look at our garden in the front of the library, you will see that spring looks to have arrived.  I was so happy to see that the flowers made it through the April snowstorm.  I would like to thank Karen Verne for the beautiful job she does on our garden.

Now on to the events of the library.  This Friday May 4 at 7pm we will be holding a Share your Own Book talk.  It’s the last book talk of the season until fall.  Morrisville State College Professor, Roxanna Pisiak will be facilitating this talk.  Read a favorite book (or two) and come and share them with the rest of the group.  Find some interesting authors and titles to read this summer.

Kiddies Korner will be about “How does your garden grow?” on Tuesday May 8 at 10:30am. Bring your toddler or preschool child in for stories, songs, activities and more!  If you can’t make it that day, join them on Tuesday May 22 for “Yummy Treats”.

Attention all kids!  Mother’s Day is coming!  Come into the library on Wednesday May 9 at 6:30pm to make a gift for your mom.

Family Bingo is back at the library on Friday May 11 at 6:30pm.  All kids are guaranteed a prize!  Refreshments will be provided.  Stop in and play a game or two!

Join our Gameboy Club and play with other gameboy enthusiasts.  Join them on Saturday May 12 from 2-4pm.  You can only bring 3 games with your gameboy and EVERYTHING must be marked with your name.

On Monday May 14 at 6:30pm, join us we learn about Family Traditions.  Come learn about family traditions and family values in today's society.  See what you can do to keep your family talking and enjoying life.

Join us on Friday May 18 at 7pm, as we thank the Boy Scouts and Morrisville Rotary for purchasing and donating a die cut machine to the library.  The unveiling will occur that night and refreshments will be served.  We will show the public how to use it as well.  It will be open for the adult public use.  No children can use it as it is a cutting system.  Adult patrons will be able to bring in their own paper and use the machine.  This is another service we will provide our library patrons.

Scrapbooking Club returns on Saturday May 19 from 1-4pm.  If you need the time to scrapbook join us this day.  Bring your tools and pages and join the club!  Work on your current project with other fellow scrapbookers in the area.

The Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday May 15 at 6:30pm in the library’s program room.  The public is welcome to attend.  If you would like to attend, please use the program room door as the library is closed during the meeting.

I will list more new books in next week’s column.  So stay tuned for something to read!

Stop in and grab some good books and then find a nice sunny place and read!  We must enjoy the weather while we have it!  We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
