Hi! I am SO ready for spring to arrive! Is anyone else sick of shoveling snow day after day after day? Be sure to stop into the library to end those winter blues. We have lots of new books and videos. We can definitely help you find something to forget all about this snow!

Did you know that besides books and videos we also have CD's, books on tape and large print books? Whatever we don't have, we are more than willing to order for you from another library and this service is FREE! In a matter of days we can have almost anything you are looking for (excluding new materials which take longer sometimes to receive).

Don't feel like asking us to order something for you? Check out the web catalog through our website www.midyork.org/morrisville. If you need help learning how to access it from home to order materials, anyone at the circulation desk would be more than happy to assist you. Feel free to call with questions also. I love being able to order books from home when I have the time to search and find just the right ones.

We also have six computers with internet access. You can browse the internet, check your email, play games, or whatever. The computers also have Microsoft Word so you can type documents, make signs, posters, anything you want. If you would like to learn how to do these things on the computer we can guide you through the processes.

Some other services the library has to offer include: faxes ($1.00 a fax to receive, $1.00 to send and $.10 each additional page); copies ($.10 each) and we have a scanner to scan pictures, documents etc. into the computer (for free).

The Friends of the Library are selling their library bags for $8 each. All proceeds benefit the library. They are very durable and are great to carry books to and from the library in. They are a perfect gift for the book lover in your family. Bags may be purchased at the circulation desk.

Now on to the rest of the news. Kiddies Korner topics are February 24- friendship. Children will make friendship chains to take home. March 2 is a special birthday party for a very popular children's author. Do you know who it is? Be sure to bring your child in that day for a piece of birthday cake! Kiddies Korner meets every Tuesday from 10:30am-11:30am. A schedule of all topics can be obtained at the circulation desk.

Some upcoming events for March are: Family Bingo Night on Thursday March 11 at 6:30pm in the program room. Wednesday March 24, Jackie Groves will be back with a spring hand stamping session for young and old. On Friday March 26, Roxanna Pisiak will be doing a Book Talk entitled No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.

Lots of new books and videos have arrived! Some new books for mystery lovers are: The Conspiracy Club by Jonathan Kellerman, The Hanged Man's Song by John Sandford, Blow Fly by Patricia Cornwell and Nevada Barr's High Country. For fiction lovers we have: Lori Foster's Fallen Angels, Toni Morrison's Love and Joanne Harris' Holy Fools. In nonfiction we have Iris and her Friends by John Bayley and for the young adult patrons we have Stephie Davis' book Putting Boys on the Ledge.

Be sure to check out these and all the new items arriving daily at the library. We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12-8pm and Tuesday and Saturday 10-2pm.
