The traditional cozy's origin is generally
attributed to the Miss Marple stories by Agatha Christie. Over the years, American authors have

(Recommended
by Novelist)
Conspiracy theory novels can
be highly improbable with fantastical implausibilities, or can be frighteningly
realistic with very probable events. Whether a conspiracy involves political,
business, religious, or personal motives, ultimately greed and desire for power
lead to murder.
The plot twists and turns build suspense and draw the reader
into the battle between good and evil.
What the reader is seeking is the answer
to the mystery — who is behind the conspiracy and why.

Women's Lives and Relationships
(Recommended

Women's Lives and Relationships
is a subgenre of mainstream fiction that appeals primarily to women readers.
These novels, written primarily by women for women, reflect women's
relationships with friends, family, and lovers and the unique way women deal
with the issues they confront at various stages in their lives. There may be
elements of other genres, such as romance, psychological fiction, or suspense,
but these books are quite distinct from the ones that fit within any of those
genres.

Stop Café (1987)
Mrs. Threadgoode's

Lipman, Elinor -- Then She Found Me (1990)

daughter she gave up for adoption thirty-six years ago. Now that she's got her

she's hurtling straight for April's quiet little life.
