Notes from the Children's Room
Spring is upon us and many kids are getting out their bikes and putting them
to use. On Saturday, May 19th at 11am children of all ages can show off
their bike riding skills in our AAA skills course at the Bike Rodeo. We
will also have bike safety tips, helmet fittings and free helmets for anyone
that needs a new one!
More than 50 new children's books will be arriving in the library within the next couple of weeks. Some of the titles include the newest Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Super Hero Squad, the latest Lady Bug Girl picture book, Puppy Place, Rainbow Magic Fairies and a lot more. Be sure to stop in and check them out or go online at watervillepl.org to see what came in.
As always we have programs going on every week to keep your kids busy. You can go online at watervillepl.org to see our full list of programs.

Library Lines
Recently we visited the Kindergarten class at MPS. We talked about the differences between the school library and the public library and what this library has to offer. They learned about our growing selection of kids books, toys & games they are able to play with here and the programs we have to offer. The kids were wonderful and to thank us they drew pictures for the library. The pictures will be hanging up on our walls throughout January. So stop by and see the kids art.
A new Story Time will begin on February 2nd. Every Thursday at 6pm kids (ages 3-8) can come into the library to hear Mrs.Amanda read stories. The kids will also make a craft, eat a snack and can play with new friends. Some of the themes we will do are Groundhogs Day, Winter, Valentine's Day, Mo Williems and much more! This is a drop in program, you do not need to sign up. More information on the program can be found at watervillepubliclibrary.org. Our existing Friday morning story hour @ 10:15am is still going and kids ages 1-4 are welcome to attend.
At 6pm on Thursday, January 26th for Family Movie Night you can come watch the movie Dolphin Tale. The story is centered on the friendship between a boy and a dolphin whose tail was lost in a crab trap.
Don't forget to bundle up in your snow gear and join us January 28th between 12-2pm for Snowfest. You can build snow sculptures with friends, race in an obstacle course, paint the snow and make sno cones! For all ages.
