Light up a life with literacy . . .

Madison County Reads Ahead—begun with a founding grant from the Central New York Community Foundation in February 2006—offers free one-on-one adult-literacy tutoring to the residents of Madison County through participating public libraries.

Madison County Reads Ahead trains volunteer literacy tutors and recruits potential learners 18 years of age and older who want to improve their basic English-language skills, get a GED diploma or learn English as a second language.

Madison County Reads Ahead emphasizes in its instructional focus:

Pat Graham becomes MCRA Coordinator as of September 1, succeeding Morris Atwood. Mrs. Graham will have her office in the Oneida Public Library and can reached by calling the library at 363-3050. Mr ATwood will continue as a presence in MCRA as a fundraiser and a volunteer tutor trainer.
