4th Grade Adirondack History Adventure
The Old Forge Library and the Town of Webb Schools are participating in a Title III Technology Literacy Challenge Grant. Under this grant our 4th grade students will explore Adirondack history through photographs, maps, objects, and primary documents provided by the Adirondack Museum on Blue Mountain Lake. Hands on experiences and an interactive learning environment will encourage the students to make observations and consider information about people, history, and culture of the Adirondacks.

The students visited the museum on June 1, 2000 and were guided through the Adirondack logging and farming exhibits. As part of this tour the students took notes, examined and reported on old photographs, and were given an opportunity to handle various artifacts of these trades. The accompanying images were taken during this tour.

On June 21, 2000 the students came to the Old Forge Library to hang their exhibit and to post the highlights of their museum trip on the Library Website. A reception for family and friends will be held Thursday, June 22 from 7-8 PM. The Fourth Grade History Exhibit will be on display in the Library until July 8th.
