Tis the season to be jolly...at the Morrisville Library. The storybook characters Christmas tree in the front hall puts a smile on everyone's face. The nice new Children's Room bulletin board donated by the Friends of the Library in honor of former Library Director, Traci Schuster, is sporting a nice Santa. The new, framed School District Library Charter is decked with holly over the fireplace.

Come in this week and stock up on books for the holiday week since the library will be closed from Wednesday, December 25th through Wednesday, January 1st.

Thanks go out this week to Janine Ashcraft who orchestrated the Children's Christmas Party. Thanks also to the Friends of the Library for hosting the library's annual Holiday Open House. Both events were festive and fun for all who attended!

The third annual Holiday Silent Auction has now ended. If you were called with the news that you were a successful bidder, please stop in as soon as possible to pay for your bid and pick up your nice item. Thanks to all auction item donors and bidders for making this another great event!

If you've stopped in lately, you probably missed Kay's smiling face. If you'd like to send her a get-well card, just send it to or drop it off at the library and we'll make sure she gets it.

Coming up this Wednesday, December 18th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the library's program room is a Stamping and Gift Wrapping Workshop led by Jackie Groves. Come in and learn quick and creative ways to decorate and wrap your holiday gifts. The workshop is free and open to adults and children over 7 who are accompanied by an adult. Sign up for this workshop at the circulation desk.

Looking ahead to events in the New Year, the library will be hosting a Spanish tutoring class, beginning in January. If you want to brush up on your Spanish, watch for details on this in the coming weeks.

In the midst of the holiday rush this week, stop in at the library for a bit of peace and quiet. Enjoy the decorations and sign out some books to give you a break during the busy days ahead.
