Pumpkin carving contest winners!
Halloween is over and I must announce the winning entries
in our pumpkin carving contest! We received 60 entries!! First
place winners are: Jennifer Forward (1-3 group), Jessie Murray
(4-6 group), Jessica Yagoda (7-9 group), and Patrick Clark (10-12
group). Honorable mentions are: in the 1-3 age group- Shelby
Villnave and Jeremy Yagoda; in the 4-6 age group- Toby Forward
and Patrick Ashcraft; in the 7-9 age group- Colvin Caraher and
Jessica Chandler; and in the 10-12 age group- Courtney Ashcraft
and Ashley Meyers. Congratulations to all and a big thank you
to all who entered!
Starting November 1, we extended the hours we are open! Tuesday
we are open from 10-2pm now and Thursdays we are open 12-8pm.
We are hoping this will allow patrons more time to utilize our
services.
On Wednesday, November 12, Jackie Groves will be doing a special
workshop called Stamping 101: Techniques for Stamping. It will
start at 6pm and is open to all ages. All children must be accompanied
by an adult. If you would like to learn more about this program
please call 684-9130 and ask for Jessica. I have heard that
this is a very interesting program one that everyone will enjoy.
A good time for the entire family!
There will be NO Preschool Story hour November 11. Be sure
to come back November 18 for a special birthday party for a very
special cartoon character! November 25 the children will be
learning about Thanksgiving and making turkeys to take home!

Preschool Story Hour is every Tuesday from 10:30-11:30am.
A reminder- The library will be closed on November 10. We
will be open on Veteran's Day, Tuesday November 11.
Our next Adult Book Talk with Morrisville State College Professor
Roxanna Pisiak will be November 14 at 7pm. The book being discussed
this time is Traveling Mercies: some thoughts about faith by
Anne Lamott. Stop in and pick up your copy today!
I made an error in last week's column about the Friends of
the Library's Silent Auction. Donations (a minimum value of
five dollars) can be brought in to be displayed in the program
room from Monday November 3 through Thursday November 13. The
silent auction will begin on Friday November 14. The public
can begin bidding on all the items then. The auction will end
on Friday December 5. More details can be obtained by calling
Brian at 684-9130.
Starting Monday November 24, the Morrisville Public Library
will be having Monday night at the movies! Movies begin promptly
at 6:30pm and the popcorn and refreshments are included. All
movies are rated G or PG. Feel free to stop by and ask a library
aide to see what movie is playing. Take some time out of your
busy schedule to sit and relax and watch a movie with your family!
You can still be home in time for Monday Night Football!
