What's in store for you at the Morrisville Library this week? Well, first off, I have to notify you of some changes. Our Library Director has decided to extend the donations for the Friends Silent Auction until November 28. Anyone may bring in items until then. Bidding has begun and will continue until Monday December 15. We have extended that date too. Stop in today and donate something or see the wonderful things already there!

The Kiddies Korner topic for December 2 is Christmas. Children will be making a bell countdown to count down the days until Christmas. December 9 is tree decorating. The children will be making ornaments to hang on the library's tree. Bring your child or grandchild in to the library every Tuesday from 10:30-11:30am for these holiday programs. Anyone wishing to know the entire winter schedule for Kiddies Korner can stop in and pick up a copy at the circulation desk.

The next Child and Young Adult Story Hour on Monday December 1 at 6:30pm will be about Jan Brett's book, The Mitten. Some activities include reading stories about mittens along with The Mitten and also making their own mitten and acting out the story as well.
December 8 Tom Lemery will be a guest story teller and his show is one not to be missed! He will be telling stories about the upcoming holidays and he does it so wonderfully that he keeps the young and old entertained. Be sure to stop in to the library on Monday nights at 6:30pm for these special holiday events.

Due to inclement weather, the November 14 Book Talk, Traveling Mercies, was postponed. It has been rescheduled for Friday December 5 at 7pm.

Be sure to mark on your calendars the Christmas Ornaments workshop that will be held on Wednesday December 3 at 6:30pm. Come in and make some beautiful ornaments for your tree or hang them on ours! This will be a great program for the younger patrons. A chance to make some Christmas presents for their loved ones. It is open to all ages but all children should be accompanied by an adult.

Friday December 12 is the Friends of the Library's annual open house complete with refreshments and musical entertainment. Stop in to the library and meet the new Library Director (if you haven't already) and some of the other staff members. Feel free to walk through the library and note the many changes that have happened over the course of the year and of course check out some books or movies or CD's for those long winter nights ahead!

If you would like a list of the entire goings on at the library, please stop in and grab the monthly newsletter that details all the programs, events etc. We also have a new bulletin board hanging near the new books which has all the upcoming events on it too.

An important reminder: we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but we will be OPEN on Friday November 28 and Saturday November 29 our usual hours.

Some new books this week are for the younger children. They are: Butterfly Battle number 16 in the Magic School Bus chapter book series; Puppy Days, an early reader book about Snoopy; and Twins in the Park and Twins Take a Bath, both early readers by Ellen Weiss. Stop in and browse over these plus the many other new titles we have. We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12-8pm and Tuesday and Saturday 10-2pm.
