Happy New Year all! I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful
holiday season! I had a wonderful vacation but I am glad to
be back to work! A big thanks to Tom Lemery for mentioning me
in his column, "Morrisville Messages". He wanted people
to remember I wouldn't be reporting for a few weeks. Thanks
Tom!
On to Library news, here are the next two weeks topics for
Kiddies Korner: January 1 is Hat Day. Be sure to wear a hat
that day! January 20 will be all about Jan Brett's The Mitten.
Children will be making their very own mitten to act out the
story. Kiddies Korner is every Tuesday from 10:30-11:30am.
Bring your child or grandchild in for a very wonderful time!
Thursday January 8 is Family Bingo Night again at the library!
Be sure to come in and have a grand ole time! Kids win prizes;
adults play for fun! Bingo begins promptly at 6:30pm and runs
until 8pm. Bring your kids and end those winter blues!
Don't forget on January 21 Melanie Zimmer will be coming to
the library and performing a very enlightening puppet show entitled,
"The Snow Maiden Puppet Show". This has been rescheduled
from last month due to inclement weather. This program begins
at 6:30pm in the program room.
On January 28, Jackie Groves will be doing another stamping
session this one pertaining to Valentine's Day. She will teach
young or old how to make cards, bags, etc. This free program
starts at 6:30pm in the Library's program room. Guys this could
be an easy way for you to make something for your sweetheart!
Our condolences go out to the family of Rosalie Hiam. She
was a dear sweet lady who volunteered her time processing books
for us. We will miss her!
Lots of new items are now at the library! We have several
new videos. Some of them are: Finding Nemo, Fear Dot Com, Daredevil,
Bringing Down the House, and Rules of Attraction. Be sure to
stop in and check out these new videos and many more!
Some new books this week are: For our older patrons: Key
of Light and Key of Knowledge; book one and book two in Nora
Roberts' Key series; and As Long as we Both Shall Live by Lurlene
McDaniel. For our young adult patrons we have: How Not to Spend
your Senior Year by Cameron Dokey and Royally Jacked by Niki
Burnham. For our younger patrons: Paul Revere and the Bell Ringers
by Jonah Winter (non fiction), Pigeon Hero by Shirley Raye Redmond,
Snow by Marion Dane Bauer and Once Upon A Potty by Alona Frankel.
We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12-8pm
and Tuesday and Saturday 10-2pm.
