IMPORTANT REMINDER:  The library is closed and will not reopen until Wednesday January 2 to observe the winter holidays. 

In the New Year we have lots going on!  We are instilling our new themed programming.  Our first theme for January and February will be “L is for Library!” From a legislative brunch, to a winter luau and then an evening learning about the history of the library, we have our library covered!  Be sure to check out our January events on our website now at www.midyork.org/morrisville. 

On Monday January 7 at 6:30pm, we will be hosting a Tax Deduction Night.  H&R Block will be hosting a seminar on Tax Deductions you don't know about.  Come and see if you are missing out of any new tax breaks this year.  Make sure you get all your money back from the government.

Our Kiddies Korner, preschool story hour, will meet again on Tuesday January 8 for “Snowmen”.  Children ages toddler to preschool are welcome to attend.  Story hour meets every other Tuesday in the program room at 10:30am.  Come hear songs, stories and more!  If you can’t make that week, join them January 22 for “Brrr, It’s Cold!”

On Friday January 11 at 8pm, we are having a Lock In at the Library!  Bring your jammies and sleeping bag and join us for our first ever sleepover at the library!!  Program will run from 8pm Friday night to Saturday morning at 8am.  Snacks will be provided but no meals (dinner or breakfast) will be.  Join us for stories, music, movies, games, food and lots more.  Bring the family in and join us for a night at the library!  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Library Manager.  All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday January 15 at 6:30pm.  The public is welcome to attend.

We are currently looking for volunteers.  If you have a couple hours free on a Wednesday or Friday afternoon please contact the Library Manager.  We are looking for someone to shelve books, call patrons to notify them of items being held and help out with any other activities as needed.

Due to the holidays and the library being closed I will not be submitting a column next week.  I will be back in the January 9, 2008 issue.
