Our Kiddies Korner, preschool story hour, will meet again on Tuesday January 8 for “Snowmen”.  Children ages toddler to preschool are welcome to attend.  Story hour meets every other Tuesday in the program room at 10:30am.  Come hear songs, stories and more!  If you can’t make that week, join them January 22 for “Brrr, It’s Cold!”

This Friday December 21 at 6:30pm, join us for O Christmas Tree Night.  This program was scheduled for Monday December 3 but we had to cancel due to heating problems.  So instead of the Winter Holidays program originally scheduled this day, we are going to learn about Christmas trees and do some awesome activities as well.

In the New Year we have lots going on!  We are instilling our new themed programming.  Our first theme for January and February will be “L is for Library!” From a legislative brunch, to a winter luau and then an evening learning about the history of the library, we have our library covered!  Be sure to check out our January events on our website now at www.midyork.org/morrisville.

We are currently looking for volunteers.  If you have a couple hours free on a Wednesday or Friday afternoon please contact the Library Manager.  We are looking for someone to shelve books, call patrons to notify them of items being held and help out with any other activities as needed.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:  The library will be closed from Monday December 24 and will not reopen until Wednesday January 2 to observe the winter holidays.  Please be sure to get enough materials to last through that week.  Place your holds on items now to get them before the holiday closure.  Our library staff is ready and waiting to assist you!

Lots of new books are arriving on our shelves these days!  Just in time for the holidays!  Come in today and check them out!  Some are:  All Through the Night by Suzanne Brockmann, Boom by Tom Brokaw, Christmas Wishes by Debbie Macomber, Dark of the Moon by John Sandford, T is for Trespass by Sue Grafton, Venetian Betrayal by Steve Berry and The Watchman by Ian Rankin, Hand of Evil by JA Jance, Last Noel by Heather Graham, History of the Snowman by Bob Eckstein, Rescuing Sprite by Mark Levin, Between Sundays by Karen Kingsbury, The Gift by Richard Paul Evans, and The Elements of Organic Gardening by Prince Charles.

As you complete your holiday shopping, don’t forget your local library!  Donate a book, offer your services, volunteer, or make a donation to the building restoration fund.

The Library staff and the Board of Trustees would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!  We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
