Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour has begun!!  Bring your toddler or preschool child in on Tuesday November 21 at 10:30am for “Give Thanks”.  If you can’t make it that day, join them for “Big Bears and Little Bears” on Tuesday December 5.  PLEASE NOTE: Story Hour is every other Tuesday. Please feel free to pick up a schedule at the circulation desk.

On Monday November 20 at 6:30pm join us for Part 3 of the Frontier House movie.  In Frontier House we see modern day people try to make it in the 1800's on the Frontier.  This is a four part series- Part One and two are over and Part Four will be on November 27.

This Saturday November 18 from 1-4pm we are starting a scrapbook club.  Bring your supplies and work with fellow scrapbookers.  Share tools and get new ideas from others.

On Wednesday November 22 at 1pm, the Utica Zoomobile will be coming to show us “Birds of Prey”.  Stop in and learn about these wonderful creatures.  This event is open to all ages, young and old and there is no sign up required.

The Friends Annual Silent Auction will begin taking bids on Monday November 20.  Stop in during library hours and view the display in the program room.  See an item that will make a good Christmas gift, or just like something—bid on it and you might win!  Bidding ends Saturday December 9.

On Friday December 1 from 8pm to midnight we will be holding a Teen Party at the library.  Teens in grades 8-12 are encouraged to attend.  There will be music, food, games, movies and lots more.  Hang out with you friends and have fun!  If parents have any questions, do not hesitate to call me at 684-9130 or email me at mforward@midyork.org.

On Tuesday December 5 at noon we will be having a Lunch Book Talk.  Read one (or more) of the Newberry Medal Award Winners and come and share.  Bring your lunch too!  (The library staff can assist you in picking some Newberry book winners.)  There is also a list of the Newberry Award Winners at the circulation desk that you may have.  It lists which books Morrisville owns as well to make your choosing a book eaiser.

REMINDER:  We will be closed on Thursday November 23 to observe Thanksgiving.  We will reopen on Friday at noon.

We have several new books by popular authors (and some not so popular but on the bestseller’s list) over the last few months.  They are:  For One More Day by Mitch Albom, The Collectors by David Baldacci, Act of Treason by Vince Flynn, Echo Park by Michael Connelly, Thirteen Moons by Charles Frazier, Motor Mouth by Janet Evanovich, What Came Before He Shot Her by Elizabeth George, Short Straw by Stuart Woods, The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield, Under Orders by Dick Francis, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Christmas Letters by Debbie Macomber, The Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer, Finding Noel by Richard Paul Evans.  Coming soon we will have another bestseller, Robert Ludlum’s The Bancroft Strategy.  If you don’t see the items on our new shelves, please ask the staff to place a hold for you.
