CALLING ALL KIDS:  Our fifth annual pumpkin coloring contest has begun! Children from toddler age up to and including 6th grade may participate.  Stop in anytime during the month of October to pick up your entry form.  All entries must be returned to the library NO LATER than Saturday October 20 at 4pm.  Winners will be announced at our Halloween party.

Our Kiddies Korner, preschool story hour, has begun!  Children ages toddler to preschool are welcome to attend.  Robin Suarez, our story teller has lots of good topics for the upcoming year.  Story hour meets every other Tuesday in the program room at 10:30am.  Come here songs, stories and more!  Join her on Tuesday October 23 for “Boo!  Did I Scare You?”.  If you can’t make that week, join her November 6 for “Let’s Be Silly”.

Our book talk series has begun!  Seeing it is our Regional Read, the book chosen is Amitav Ghosh’s The Hungry Tide.  Copies can be picked up at the circulation desk now.  Grab a copy and then join us this Friday October 12 at 7pm.  We are blessed to have Roxanna Pisiak, a Morrisville State College professor, facilitating again this year.

On Monday October 15 at 6:30pm the Ghost Seekers of CNY will be at the library to share their findings on the investigation they did of our beloved library.  Is the infamous library ghost real?  This program is NOT for younger children.  Ages 12 and up are welcome to attend.  PLEASE NOTE:  Children 12-16 will not be allowed in the program without an adult.  Parents are expected to stay with their child and remove them from the room if they get frightened. This program is mainly for adult patrons.  The Library will ask children and their parents to leave if needed.

On Wednesday October 17 at 6:30pm join us for “Chocolate Around the World”.  Bring the family in and eat some chocolate, learn about it and create some fun things with it! (part of our Regional Read Programming)

Join us on Saturday October 20 from 1-4pm as we dedicate the garden done by MSC horticulture students in memory of former director, Brenda Hasegawa.  Reception to follow.

As part of our We the People Bookshelf Grant, we will be holding a Laura Ingalls Night on Wednesday October 24 at 6:30pm.  Come and learn about the era, do some cool crafts and play some games of long ago.

Friday October 26 at 6:30pm will be our Family Movie Night.  The movie showing is Meet the Robinsons.  Bring something comfy to sit in and we will provide the popcorn!  We now show the movie on the wall and it’s more like a movie theater setting.  Hope to see you there!

The Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday October 16 at 6:30pm in the program room.  The public is welcome to attend.

We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
