The 2007 System-wide Regional Read has begun and runs until the end of October.  The book to be read, discussed, thought about this year is Thomas Friedman’s, The World is Flat.  Copies of this book are available at the library.  Part of our program will be a “flat quiz”.  The quiz is open to adults, teens and inquisitive children.  Copies can be picked up at the circulation desk.  If you complete the quiz and have 10 or less answers wrong and turn it in before the then of October, you will be invited to our Flat Food Party in early November!

Be sure to keep an eye out for other Regional Read programming to come in the next couple of months!  Please visit www.midyork.org/regionalread for more information on programs throughout the Mid York Library System.

This Friday September 14 at 6:30pm we will be having a Roald Dahl night.  Come help us celebrate beloved author, Roald Dahl’s belated birthday and hear some stories, make some crafts and play some games.

We will be having an indoor book sale this Saturday September 15 from 10-4pm!  The book barns will be open and we will be filling the program room with books! Grab some books to read for the cooler months!

Join us on Wednesday September 19 at 6:30pm for an art reception for Rachael Ikins.  Her photography is on display now in the Library’s Program room until the end of September.

“If you’re happy and you know it” night will be on Friday September 21 at 6:30pm. Help us celebrate being happy and do some cool things!  (Part of our We the People Bookshelf Grant programming)

Join Local Historian, Sue Greenhagen, as she presents the Engine House Talk: The Rest of It on Monday September 24 at 6:30pm.  Come here about some exciting adventures and see some interesting artifacts from the Engine House long ago!

On Wednesday September 26 at 6:30pm, we will be having a make-n-take night.  There will be several autumn crafts for children to make WITH THEIR PARENTS in the program room.  The crafts, supplies and directions (everything you need), will be there.  Stop in to the library anytime after 6:30pm with your parent, grandparent, older sibling, etc and make together some nifty fall crafts to take home!  PLEASE NOTE:  This is not a program but an individual family activity night.  There will be no library staff member there.

The Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday September 18 at 6:30pm.  The public is welcome to attend.

We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
