Summer Reading has begun!  The theme this year is “Get A Clue @ your Library”.  Stop in during library hours if you haven’t already to get signed up!

The new Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will be this weekend!  Be sure to join us for a Harry Potter Party on Friday July 20 at 6:30pm.  Games, crafts, Harry Potter food and more!  We will be giving away (individually) books 1-6 of the series.  So if you are missing one, be sure to attend to put your name in the drawing!  We will also be giving away a Barnes and Noble gift certificate to one lucky winner who will be able to buy their own new copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The Morrisville Movie Gallery is also raffling off the first six Harry Potter books at their store.  All proceeds go to benefit the library.  Stop in over there and put your name in the raffle!

On Monday July 23 at 6:30pm, join Sue Greenhagen, Local Historian as she helps us “Discover History”.  This event is open to all ages, young and old.

Airplay, a father son comedy juggling act, will be here to perform on Wednesday July 25 at 6:30pm. Guaranteed to mesmerize your audience, this fast paced, entertaining and dynamic show has everything from juggling and acrobatics to unicycling and comedy.

Join us on Monday August 30 at 6:30pm, as we try to “Dig it Up”!  Dig up ancient Egypt!  Learn about mummies and pyramids, make a pyramid to take home and do some cool activities!

On Wednesday August 1 at 1pm, the Kids Project will be performing.  The Central New York Developmental Services Office will be performing a short puppet show.

Be sure to join us and the Madison County Sheriff’s evidence van on Friday August 3 at 6:30pm as we “Solve the Mystery” at the library.  They will show us the neat things they use to investigate a crime and even try to lift some fingerprints off some books!  I will know who checked out some of my most popular books!

I would like to mention about an experience I had last week.  It was the first day of Summer Reading and we had several children in our doors in a small matter of time to sign up!  The place was hopping which I love to see!  In walks a 4-H group with a big jar of pennies.  Once when they have been in the library they had seen how we were collecting pennies for our Building Restoration Fund (one penny at a time).  They decided to collect on their own for the library!  I was very pleased to see these children do such a wonderful thing for our beloved library.  I,  the staff and the Board of Trustees are extremely grateful for their selfless act!  We are one step closer to getting the library restored!  Thank you!

Some new books this week are: Double Agents by WEB Griffin, Bungalow 2 Danielle Steel, Quickie by James Patterson, Judas Strain by James Rollins, Peony in Love by Lisa See, Sammy’s House by Kristen Gore, New England White by Stephen Carter, Drop Dead Beautiful by Jackie Collins, High Noon by Nora Roberts, Devil’s Labyrinth by John Saul, Dragons of the Highlord Skies by Margaret Weis, Tin Roof Blowdown by James Lee Burke, What Matters Most by Luanne Rice, World Without Us by Alan Weisman, Someone to Love by Jude Deveraux and First Commandment by Brad Thor.

Be sure to browse our new shelves today!  We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
