Our theme for May and June is Arts and Crafts!  There is a lot going on at the library during these months!  Check out our website, www.midyork.org/morrisville and click on the programs tab for more information.

On Monday May 12 at 6:30pm join us for a Masters of Karate presentation!  Join Master Beth Fragale from Masters of Karate in Cazenovia as some of her students demonstrate this art.

Our Kiddies Korner, preschool story hour, will meet again on Tuesday May 13 for “Don’t forget to eat your vegetables!”  Children ages toddler to preschool are welcome to attend.  Story hour meets every other Tuesday in the program room at 10:30am.  If you can’t make it that day, join us May 27 for “I Scream for Ice Cream!”  Come hear songs, stories and more!

Join the “Share your Own Book” book talk on Friday May 16 at 7pm.  Read a book (or two) and come and share with the rest of the group. Roxanna Pisiak will facilitate this discussion.  What a way to get a list of great books to read this summer!

On Saturday May 17 from 1pm to 4pm (or longer) we are having Scrapbooking at the library!  Need to find time to scrapbook?  In a rut and need new ideas?  Bring your tools and pages and join us!  Work on your current project with other fellow scrapbookers in the area.

On Wednesday May 21 at 6:30pm join us for Hands on Clay!  Come hear some stories about clay and get some hands on experience as you create something to take home.

On Tuesday May 20 at 6:30pm, the Library Board of Trustees will meet again.  The public is welcome to attend.

I am in the process of creating 32 literacy bags for our younger patrons.  We are in need of some fabric, 18x20 in various themes.  If you have some fabric you would like to donate or would like to purchase some for us, please contact me at the library at 684-9130.

This summer you will be noticing a lot happening at the library.  Besides our summer reading program, Catch the Reading Bug, we will be doing some renovations as well!  The stained glass around the front door will be restored to its original condition and the upstairs local history room will be renovated so it can reopen.  On that note, if anyone is interested in resetting up and organizing the room for the reopening, please let me know.  Both those renovations are due to a NYS Library Construction grant we received.  The fire alarm we installed last year was also part of this grant.

The exterior of the building will be painted this summer and the downstairs windows will be restored and in working order by the end of summer.  These are due to a special Legislative Grant we obtained from Assemblyman Magee.  Please bear with us through these renovations.

We are starting a graphic novel collection.  If you have any rated G or PG graphic novels you would like to donate to this collection please see me.

With the weather getting warmer, grab a few good books and head outside to read.  We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
