Kiddies Korner will be about Snow People on Tuesday January 16 at 10:30am.  Bring your toddler or preschool child in for stories, songs, activities and more!  If you can’t make that day, join them on Tuesday January 30 for feelings.  Copies of the complete story hour schedule can be obtained at the circulation desk.

On Monday January 8 we began to organize and prepare a puppet theater program.  The puppet show we are trying to do will be Ezra Jack Keats book, A Whistle for Willie.  This program is funded by a grant from the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation.  Please check out his website for lots of wonderful resources at www.Ezra-Jack-Keats.org.  We are still looking for adults and children interested in writing the script, performing a part, making the puppets and props, creating invitations and posters, helping learn parts, etc.  If you are interested (young or old) please be sure to join us for our next session on Monday January 22 at 6:30pm.  We will performing this show in the middle of February.

Our gameboy club returns this Saturday January 13 from 11-1pm.  Come in and share games and have fun with other Gameboy enthusiasts.  You can only bring 3 games with your gameboy and EVERYTHING must be marked with your name.  Bring a nutritious snack to share as well.

The Dairy Princess is coming to the library on Wednesday January 17 at 6:30pm.  Come and play the wheel of dairy and other fun things.  Dairy refreshments will be provided.

Need to find time to scrapbook?  In a rut and need new ideas?  Bring your tools and pages and join our club!  Work on your current project with other fellow scrapbookers in the area. We will meet on Saturday January 20 from 1-4pm.  

Join us for Kazoo night on Friday January 26 at 6:30pm.  We will make kazoos and do some other crazy things as well!

The Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday January 16 at 6:30pm in the library’s program room. The public is welcome to attend.

The Library is looking for a library aide for 20 hours a week.  Applicants must have a flexible schedule and be able to work days and occasional nights.  Applicants must have strong computer and customer service skills, be detail-oriented and be an independent worker.  Previous library experience is preferred but not required.  If you are interested stop into the library during library hours and pick up an application.  If you have any questions, please call me at 684-9130 or email me at mforward@midyork.org.  We will be accepting applications until Friday.

Important reminder:  We will be closed on Monday January 15 to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  We will reopen Tuesday January 16 at 10am.
