The Friends of the Library are dedicated folks from the community that support the library. Some you will see assisting at the circulation desk, shelving books or holding story hour. Some folks you don't see but their presence is felt; donating books and magazines, baking goods for events, sorting book sale books, caring for our flower gardens, or serving on the Board of Trustees. The Friends promote the library through various community events. They sponsor a book discussion group led by Roxanna Pisiak, Morrisville State College professor of English. In the summer they hold the Annual Book Sale and help support the Summer Reading Program. In December they have the Holiday Open House and the Silent Auction. The Friends' also hold monthly meetings. The Friends support our library finacially as well: using funds raised through the membership drive and the other annual events they supplement the library with books, music CDs, and videotapes, money for building repairs, computers and software, and other items the library budget cannot provide. Whether you give money or time please consider your membership today. All are welcome to join. Stop by the Morrisville Public Library at 87 East Main Street, Morrisville, New York or call us at 315-684-9130, or send us an e-mail to get more information on joining the Friends of the Morrisivlle Public Library. |
