Here is a great resource for information of all types concerning the care of your aging loved one. Your state & local OFA can answer all of the questions that plague you from Medicare/Medicaid issues to in-home and adult day care services. Give them a call. They'll be glad to help!

NEW YORK STATE OFFICE FOR THE AGING (NYSOFA)
The New York State OFA aids older New Yorkers in retaining their independence for as long as possible through advocacy and the development of cost-effective programs and services that empower the elderly and their families. See their Pharmacy section.

FAMILY CAREGIVER ALLIANCE: National Center on Caregiving

MAYO CLINIC.COM
This website is a natural extension of Mayo's long-standing commitment to provide health education to the general public. See their Senior Health Center and search for prescription drug information from the Micromedex database.

MEDICAID
Medicaid is health insurance that helps many people who can't afford medical care and prescription drugs pay for some or all of their medical care and prescription costs. A state administered program, each state sets its own guidelines regarding eligibility and services. See if you're eligible.

MEDICARE
This link to Medicare's Prescription Drug and Other Assistance Programs (PDAP); including Medicare-Approved Drug Discount Cards, will help you sort out what your care recipient needs and how to get it. Check out their helpful FAQ sheet!
