Fall After School Program
Tuesday, October 7 thru Thursday, November 6, 2008
Schedule
Thursday: 3 - 5th Grades
Children will need bus passes (if going home on the late bus) each day they come to the Library. If they will not being going home on the late bus, they will need to be picked up by 5:00 p.m.
Children must be registered for this program. Please call the Library at 852-6262, and give us your child’s name, grade and whether or not they will be going home on the late bus. Any questions, please contact the Library.

- This program is opened to all children from birth to 5. If the library is opened on days when school is closed, siblings are most welcome to attend.
- The program consists of stories read or told, songs, games, finger plays, puppets, and crafts. Playtime is used for playing with toys, looking at board books, putting puzzles together, and sharing. More educational games and toys will be added.
Summer Reading
Program
- Each summer, DeRuyter Free Library offers a six week themed program. All children from pre-school through sixth grade are welcome to attend. Children who attend the summer school program at DeRuyter Central come once a week to the library for book exchange and programs. Children who are not enrolled in the summer school program, sign up at the library.
- Summer program begins the week after school ends and continues through the first week of August.
- There is a different theme each summer: the theme for 2006 was: BOOKS: A TREASURE, the theme for
2007 was: GET A CLUE AT YOUR
LIBRARY, the theme for 2008 was: CATCH THE READING BUG!
- We offer a variety of activities, including guest storytellers, music programs, puppet shows, videos, games, crafts,prizes, incentives, and much more.
- During the summer, there is a special incentive: every child who reads at least 8 hours (end of school through beginning of school in September) receives a special gift supplied by Mid-York Library System. In the past those prizes included: stuffed animals, library card pouches, book lights, and radios.

CLASSES
Our Bridge class meets every Wednesday, 7:00 pm, at the home of Nancy Woodin. Bridge Players are still needed, please call the Library at 852-6262, for more information.
